YorkSpace is a repository system that enables us to capture, preserve and distribute the intellectual output of York University in electronic form.
The following are meant to serve as guidelines for the types of collection content appropriate for YorkSpace:
The item must be produced, submitted or sponsored by York University, its faculty and staff. Contributors may include others if they are affiliated closely with the University. Sponsored work may include student research and papers.
The item must be of a scholarly nature that supports teaching, learning or research, and must adhere to York University.s policy on research guidelines. Sample items include: research papers, conference papers, articles, books, book chapters, images and theses.
The item should be ready for public dissemination and unrestricted view (full open access and free of charge).
YorkSpace is an online institutional repository; not a publisher. A non-exclusive distribution license is attributed to all deposited items.
This means that the item can be reproduced, displayed or performed, and given to third parties in any format or medium for personal research or study, educational, or not-for-profit purposes without prior permission or charge provided:
The item must not be transitory; deposits are intended to be permanent contributions with enduring value to users of the repository.
All entries in YorkSpace must be accompanied by at least one item. Metadata-only submissions are not accepted by the system.
Open formats such as PDF are encouraged for sustainable access.
If the item is part of a series, other digital works in that series should also be contributed so that YorkSpace can offer as complete a set as possible.
